Caviar on Toast
Here's a real nice and simple afternoon delight, caviar on toast. You can use any fish eggs you want; you don't have to talk like Russel Brand (or have his bank roll) to enjoy caviar. You can find fish eggs at most super markets these days, the most recognizable one being salmon roe (eggs), the little orange pearls we often get on our sushi. Just choose a bread of your liking, this one is a raisin and walnut whole grain, and top with a dollop of sour cream and a scoop of caviar (throw some chives on if you have any). The balance among the sweetness of the raisins, the tartness of the cream, and the saltiness of the eggs is truly divine. We enjoyed this one with a cold Polish brewski.
- Caviar (or any fish eggs you like)
- Sour cream
- Artisan bread
- Herbs (chives or scallions work best)
